Rivendell Wanderer

The Rivendell Wanderer is a traveling trader like the Oddment Collector that spawns near the player and has various goods for sale.

Spawning

The Rivendell Wanderer will spawn fairly close to a player with a message like "Lindis the Rivendell Wanderer has arrived nearby". The Wanderer will also spawn with several guards to protect it. There is likely a biome limit to where exactly a wanderer can appear, but this is still a WIP.

Behavior

The Rivendell Wanderer will not attack any player or creature until they are attacked. They wander around the area they appeared when not be traded with. After awhile, the Wanderer will despawn.

Equipment

The Rivendell Wanderer fight enemies with a Rivendell Dagger. They have no armor, making them weak combat units.

Trading

The Rivendell Wanderer will not trade with players unless they have +100 alignment with High Elves. Upon trading with then, the player will be bestowed the advancement "Treasures of Imladris".

Rivendell Wanderers sell the goods of Rivendell. This includes Rivendell armor and equipment among other things.

Rinvedell Wanderers also buy many supplies, such as gemstones and random items.

Strategy

When fighting Rivendell Elves or any other ranged enemy, a shield is extremely useful to block arrows.
Try and get close enough for them to immediately switch to their melee weapon, which toggles on at shorter range. If you are at the right distance, they can't damage you with it.
There is no need to fight a Rivendell Wanderer, but if you do, it is easy to kill them with a longer weapon such as a spear, or with a bow, since they don't have a ranged attack, just look out for their guards!

Lore

The Rivendell Elves are Noldorin Elves who dwell in Rivendell, home of the Lord Elrond. They are more ancient than the Wood-Elves and Galadhrim, and are great warriors and loremasters.

Rivendell Elves were the first elven NPCs added to Renewed, along with the Galadhrim.
