Rivendell Captain

The Rivendell Captain is the hiring NPC of the Rivendell Elves.

Spawning

The Rivendell Captain spawns in Rivendell Captain Tower, identified by the blue and white flag flying above the tower, not to be confused with the Rivendell Smithy, a short round building that also flys a blue and white flag.

Behavior

Like other hiring NPCs, Rivendell Captains will not attack any player or creature unless they are attacked first. They generally wander around the tower when not interacting. Upon death, a silver coin will float above the ground where they died, signifying that they will respawn here after a short period of time.

Equipment

The Rivendell Captain fight enemies with a Rivendell Sword. They have 3/4 armor, making them a easy unit to kill, but ultimately not worth while.

Hiring

Rivendell Captains allow you to hire Rivendell Elves or Warriors as long as you have at least 300 alignment and some money. Upon hiring a unit, the player will be bestowed the advancement "For Imladris!".

Strategy

There is no need to fight a Rivendell Captain, but if you do, it is easy to kill them with a longer weapon such as a spear, or with a bow, since they don't have a ranged attack.

Lore

The Rivendell Elves are Noldorin Elves who dwell in Rivendell, home of the Lord Elrond. They are more ancient than the Wood-Elves and Galadhrim, and are great warriors and loremasters.
