Blue Mountains Merchant
Blue Mountains Merchants are the traveling traders Blue Mountains. They wander around Middle Earth seeking to trade their wares to players.
Spawning
Blue Mountains Merchants can spawn anywhere on Middle-Earth aside from their homeland, evil-infested biome like Mordor, and desolate biomes. They will spawn with a detachment of Blue Mountains Soldiers.
Behavior
Merchants randomly appear somewhere, wandering around with their guards looknig for someone to trade with them. After a single Minecraft day, they disappear off of the map. When Merchants are killed, a coin symbol floats above where they were killed and they will respawn.
Equipment
Merchants are not fighting NPCs and will only attack if you attack them back. They wear no armour and only use a dagger in combat.
Trading
Merchants will not trade with players until they are at least 5+ alignment with the Blue Mountains. They offer food, drinks, and lots of equipment and decor from their faction. They will purchase food, coal and ingots from players.
Strategy
- Generally you do not need to attack a hiring unit like a merchant, but if you do, long weapons are generally more effective against melee NPCs, especially dwarves as they have shorter reach.
- Try to draw the merchant away from its guard, as a large group can overwhelm you very quickly.
Lore
The Blue Mountains Merchants wandering the land, buying and selling precious materials to bring back to their homeland of Ered Luin.
